Having said that, both tools are quite impressive in their quality and overall functionality. Personally, I like to perform these two adjustments either at the beginning of the editing process, (raw noise reduction is amazing!) …or, at the very end of the editing process, (that’s when sharpening should be done!) This is a pretty straightforward feature with obvious benefits what else can we say except, it works and is very useful! Noise Reduction & Sharpening The existing “Lighting” tool in PortraitPro was already one of the biggest reasons we loved it–you can take a portrait with totally flat, boring light, and add a subtle touch of directionality to the light, and it looks truly amazing.Īny user of Photoshop (or Lightroom) will appreciate having a full-featured history panel that allows you to quickly revert back to any step in your process. There are three versions of PortraitPro 21: Standard, Studio, and Studio Max. In this review, we’ll tell you what’s new, how it works, and what we like and don’t like about PortraitPro 21! PortraitPro 21 Review | Specifications It is a BIG improvement, in quite a few ways, and very much worth investing in. So, is it? Yes, indeed it is, to make a long story short. However, you can’t just say “now with AI!” and have everyone assume it is a valuable improvement. This could mean that PortraitPro’s retouching tools have, in fact, gotten a whole lot better. The automatic control points for finding Face Features is still not all that accurate especially the outline of of the sides of the face.Īs much as I like Portrait Pro, I am just going to stay with my current Portrait Pro v 18, until I see an Upgrade works with Profile Views.PortraitPro 21 just came out recently and, you guessed it–AI is present in their newly developed retouching algorithms. I am also disappointed that the Hair Controls some of the control sliders such as Saturation are way too sensitive - making it difficult to get the right setting because stuff changes way too much. What is so damn difficult about doing this ? Is it not clearly actually easier to work with than the usual face front Facing Portrait? Therefore I am not purchasing the new version 21, and recommending to everyone else to also send this message to Anthropics. What gives I and some other people have been asking for this ever since the first version of Portrait Pro appeared, but this request has been totally disregarded. There is major problems trying find a face which is even somewhat approaching a Side Profile. I was hoping version 21 would finally be able to work with Side Profile or anything in between front facing and side facing orientation processing, but there is no mention of it in the ads.
